In tangier, the el minzah hotel is a real institution. Since its launching in april 1930 by the british aristocrat lord bute, this hotel distinguished itself by its hispano-moorish style, following the traditional and pure moroccan lines. Situated on the straits of gibraltar, where europe and africa almost touch, the el minzah was the fashionable heart of "international tangiers". It was then that the hotel first acquired its deserved reputation. As for hollywood stars, rita heyworth, farrah fawcette, anthony quinn, gina lollobrigida and rex harrison also discovered the white city through the el minzah hotel.
