This is a copy of my complaint to the hotel as our stay this weekend was extremely disappointing and unsatisfactory. 1. Upon check-in I was greeted by an extremely surly member of reception team and a trainee receptionist. I was handed my key card but not given any directions to the room, which floor it was on, or timings for evening meal, breakfast or any other information. 2. When we entered the bedroom the room temperatrue was completely freezing, the windows were wide open and the radiator was turned off completely. 3. We had booked a family room and therfore there was a double bed and a sofa, however, the sofa bed was not made up or was their bedding available for me to do it. 4. When we entered the corridor to go towards our room we heard very very loud music. It transpired that there was a wedding going on in the hotel (2 floors down!!) but it was still extremely loud. We decided that we would go downstairs and have dinner and see how it went. 5. When we went down for dinner I spoke to the reception staff and asked if it would be possible to make up the sofa bed for our daughter or to provide me with the bedding. Atlhought still very grumpy they advised they would get this sorted. 6. We returned to our room at 9:45 pm and sure enough the bed was made up, however, the music was still just as loud if not louder! 7. We decided that we would go to bed and try and sleep and pretend the music wasn't there. It got to about 10:30 pm and I still couldn't sleep. I was quite annoyed at this point as I had specifically asked when making the booking for a quiet family room as I was travelling with a child. 8. I decided to give reception a call from the room telephone to find that the telephone was out of order/use and I therefore went down to reception in my pyjamas to ask if something could be done! 9. On arrival at reception the trainee receptionist was the only member of staff present. She explained to me that the wedding would go on until 12:30 am which would have been another 2 hours. I explained that I was very unhappy and asked what could be done at which point she went and got another colleague to speak to me. 10. I was advised that the hotel was fully booked apart from a bedroom on the ground floor with 2 single beds and therefore we could not be moved to another room. 11. I explained my dissatisfaction and the circumstances for our stay and that when the booking was made I had specified a quiet room. However, the receptionist just looked at me blankly and did eventually apologise for the inconvenience. I then asked if I would be given a refund as I was very dissatisfied. I was advised by the receptionist to speak to her colleague in the morning when checking out. 12. We eventually got to sleep when the music quietened down but had to be up at 6:30 am. 13. On checking out there was a different receptionist on duty and I explained to her what had happened and said that her colleague from the previous evening advised me to speak to her about getting a refund. 14. This receptionist was extremely dismissive and rude and said well I don't know why she told you that as I can't give you a refund. When I asked what she was going to do with our complaint she said she would make a note and would pass it to the Customer Services Manager. When I asked when would my complaint be looked at and how we would receive our refund she said that the Customer Services Manager would have to look into it and would get back to me when they were next at the hotel which was going to be Monday 23 February at 3pm. That date has now passed and it has been 2 days since I was told I would be contacted. I am so disappointed by this whole episode as I have stayed at many Best Western Hotels and this is the only one where I have had such a bad experience but not just with one issue there was a catalogue of unfortunate events.
Im a carpenter working in London for the last 3 months . We stayed here last week due to normal hotel being full . Did think it was a nice hotel until I walk back to my van on Friday morning to see my whole livelihood gone . My van which was parked inside the hotel car park, Infront of reception and in front of two cctv cameras got broken into and emptied . £4000 worth of tools gone . Do the hotel give a crap NO , They can't even be bothered to go through the cctv for me . Two vans were done that night and they just fob me off with " we may have another look tomorrow as we couldnt really see anything " With what these bastards took from my van would of taken them at lease 5 minutes to off load into another van . So I would strongly recommend not to stay here if you have tools in your van .
We booked a family room, 2 adults, 2 children. It had one standard double bed, and a sofa bed suitable for one child. No bed for the second child. On complaining we were told all the rooms were the same. they would not provide a mattress but suggested we book another room. Should have booked another hotel! Bathroom suitable for pygmies!
Visiting the area from Ireland to attend a wedding at nearby location. Made the reservation by telephone with Adam who was so helpful and got a great deal for 3 nights. Arrived in Woodford Green, but could not find the hotel ( signs would be helpful), rang hotel and got excellent directions. Lovely staff and very comfortable rooms. Had lovely dinner on our first night and it was great that the staff knew the menu and made great recommendation - I can highly recommend the Prawn Thai Curry. Buffet breakfast very nice and plenty of variety. Very friendly staff. Definitely would stay here again if visiting the area.
Trying to order in the restaurant was like pulling teeth. The waiter seemed to have difficulty understanding English and when he missed out part of the order there was just a blank look- no apology! The 'great experience' was concluded by the bar manager refusing a bank of Ireland sterling note. Lovely way to treat your patrons! The food was ok but his attitude stunk!! All in all I think so e basic customer service was lacking
