“Relaxing Holiday”

Week long trip with my family, booked a double room with a sea view and hot tub, and a single room facing the pool. Food was amazing, location is perfect. We have been on holidays to Tsilivi for years and the Zante Maris is the nicest hotel we have stayed in. We plan on returning in September 2024.

Came to Zante Maris with my family on my 'babymoon'. The stay really exceeded all our expectations but was made what it was by the incredible staff. A special shout out to Dione and Lina at the main restaurant. Those girls were incredible - friendly, funny, caring and went so far out of their way to make our stay amazing. Noticed they were just as lovely to every single guest - a masterclass in good service. Sydney and Adina from the fitness and entertainment teams also deserve a massive shout out. I was worried before I came that my dad who is not the best at relaxing may get a little bored on this holiday - Sydney and Adina certainly made sure this was not the case! Only slight negatives - The gym is small and when we were there the treadmills were quite temperamental. Husband ended up running on the roads outside the hotel instead. The food at the beach restaurant was hit or miss. Pizza was pretty much raw one day and gyros very wet on another. Stopped ordering milkshakes as it felt like the staff really hated making them! The chef was lovely however and on BBQ day went out of her way to make a vegitarian option for us. The swim up rooms are not all equal and we spent very little time in ours as it didn't get the sun until quite late on, was quite a narrow strip of water and was shaded by a Bush. The swim up rooms on the other side didn't seem to have this issue. Positives Sun beds were very comfy and we had no issues getting one at ant part of outer stay. The trips out were fantastic with great advice from the TUI team and all staff we talked to. We hired a car and did two boat trips. Town is a very short walk away with nice shops and some lovely restaurants. Worth it even if just for a walk! Being on the beach was great. The sea was warmer than the pools so it was great being so close! Garfield the cat was a delight, loved seeing him strutting around the hotel! The staff. Can't emphasise enough how much they made our holiday! Whole hotel had a lovely friendly atmosphere and we felt welcomed into their family!

We decided to splash the cash and booked a ground floor room with swim-up private pool and terrace. Glad we did, as although the pool was always bitterly cold, it did give us a private terrace with sunloungers...essential as the rush to "reserve" sunbeds starts just before 6am!! Hotel itself was great, rooms cleaned daily and minifridge always restocked. The aircon did struggle at times, but we were really happy with our room choice. The food on offer was simply fantastic, although some of the more popular dishes often run out quite quickly. Plenty of choice, and themed evenings throughout the week added to the choice. The staff were by far the best I have ever experienced in a hotel; super friendly and very attentive. Entertainment every evening, although the chairs are pretty touch on your back and backside, so we'd often wander into the local town and enjoy the lively bars and restaurants there too. One thing that really let the place down was the wasps. They are literally everywhere; crawling across food and drinks, especially in the beach bar. We spotted three large wasp nests around the hotel buildings; perhaps if they were removed the problem would be eased significantly. Overall though a great hotel, excellent staff and great choice of food and drink. Yes, it's still a bit pricey, but we would definitely visit again.

Hotel was not 5* The rooms were comfortable but fairly basic, the drinks varied depending on who served you and which bar area you were in. The food was good and reasonable amount of choice. Entertainment was outside which is fine provided the weather is. We have no idea where the entertainment would be if the weather wasn’t good. Unable to take a drink to your room for a night cap unless you had it in a paper cup. We were made to feel like thieves when we went to take our drink to our room, after being confronted by one of the waiters. The pool area resembles a water feature rather than a pool to relax by. The beach area was ok but could do with being cleared of rubbish more regularly. Food in the a la carte restaurant was exceptional.
